Frequently Asked Questions

Why HelpHear?

We see first hand the number of folks who are turned away because they do not have insurance coverage, do not meet Medi-Cal’s qualifications for hearing aids or can’t afford hearing aids on their own. HelpHear was created as a way to provide these people with hearing aids.

Why are hearing aids so important?

Children need to be identified and fit with hearing aids early in life- the earlier, the better because this helps with their speech and language development and with success in school. Adults with hearing loss often tell us that they do not like to be around other people anymore because they can’t hear. They are often afraid that family, friends and co-workers get annoyed with them because they can’t hear and often tell us that they are afraid that they will lose their job.

How can I donate hearing aids?

You can pick up one of our pre-labeled mailing packets or you can mail or drop off your donated hearing aids to 255 Terracina Blvd, Redlands, CA 92372. If you are not using one of our pre-labeled mailing packets, please visit our website www.HelpHear.org to download our donation form or send us a note that includes your name, your address and telephone number. Please indicate whether or not you would like your donation to be tax-deductible.
Call us or send us an email. All potential candidates will need to have a hearing test (either with us or with an audiologist in the area) and will need to answer a few questions to establish financial need.
